Agriculture is another important sector in Amagh; businesses in this sector account for around a quarter of all enterprises in the region, with construction being the next biggest industry at 17%. Retail accounts for 10% of all business, and hotels and catering and wholesale both sit at 5%. Transport also accounts for 5% of all Armagh businesses; which is the highest proportion of businesses in the sector in Northern Ireland. Property and business services make up 2% of all businesses in the region.

New businesses are made very welcome in the region, thanks to the highly trained workforce, focus on research and development, and business led approach in schools and colleges, as well as the numerous apprenticeship schemes.
