Brighton has emerged as an important digital cluster in recent years, making it a focus for the UK's digital sector as a whole, and encouraging increasing levels of investment alongside highly-skilled workers. The digital industry in the city now has a value of over £1 billion annually, and continues to grow, with new start ups cropping up every day - particularly those in the tech sphere.
Tourism is also a valuable asset to the city's economy. Figures from Tourism South East reveal that there were 11,234,000 visitors in total to Brighton during 2016, which was an increase of 6.4% on the previous year. These visitors spent an estimated £885.9 million in 2016, 3.2% more than in 2015.
