Oxford is enjoying great revenues and continued growth across a variety of sectors. The digital and creative sectors are becoming increasingly valuable to the city, currently contributing £1.4 billion to the economy every year. Vehicle manufacturing is also extremely lucrative to Oxford, as the city is located within a cluster for the sector worth £9 billion.
Biotechnology is also thriving in the city, it currently employs around 13% of the total working population, and ten companies in the sector have seen more than £1 billion in investment since 2014. Higher education remains crucial to Oxford, providing 21,800 jobs in the city and welcoming some 42,000 students each year.
