As is evidenced in the list above, Norwich has a varied range of successful industries. One sector that is seeing particularly good growth is digital. From 2010 to 2013 there was a 21% increase in businesses in the digital sector, now employing around 14,500 people. Advanced engineering is also on the rise, with development projects such as those at the city's airport and the Hethel Engineering Centre. New businesses in this sector can be especially confident given that 89% of advanced engineering startups in Norwich make it to their fifth year.

There is currently more than 200ha of employment land available in the city, and the City Deal aims to invest £575 million in infrastructure by 2026.
